The rainbow stretches from slumber
After a night long of stay in the nest
Where the flap hatches for the day
Greets the world with her motley crest.
A quill of fairy has fallen on woven tuft
While she soars even as she wills to alight
Her silvery countenance with red beak
Sparkle in her effortless golden flight.
Her chirp is a lyric to the eager soul
Her eyes to the night skies, stars bestow
When she decides to dig into higher heavens
She alights in heart with strands of rainbow.
